EXTREME Zot!
Photobucket

5 perfectly fine for dial-up panels of Scott McCloud's underappreciated Zot! under the cut.

This is from Zot! issue #10, published in 1985.

What really gets me is Zot's "But, what if I don't have any big problems?"

When he was left on his own by his parents several years ago (he's 14 now) and had to make his own way, with just an eccentric mad scientist uncle (who wouldn't let him live anywhere but at his parents' house), an uptight robo-nanny, and a handful of friends, and is currently about to almost single-handedly go to war against an entire planet.

Yeah, he's got no big problems at all.

Indeed, I'm a major fan of Zot and co. Come for the cute blond hero in the Flash Gordon gear, stay for the great art and satisfying rich storytelling!

I miss Scott McCloud before he abandoned drawing to his machines.

Only the b&w issues are collected. I don't think the earlier, color ones are available in anything but someone's old collection.

OK, I saw the preview image and immediately thought of Rob Liefeld. Those are the same kinds of stares he's featured in his work for years. :D

The black and white issues are better, but the first ten were pretty fun, too.
