But all that still holds the exact same for Daniel/Morrison's Joker. The difference is he just looks like a refugee from SILENT HILL. I find Dini's Joker far more scary because of how subversive he is, seemingly charming and campy and charismatic on the surface, and then he moves in for the kill. That chills me far more than any Hot Topic reject.
No, they were expressive, sure, but in the same way that masks can be expressive. It was, for me (and clearly, for others as well), a superficial expressiveness.
