On a very small, personal scope - I was sick to death of WWII in grade ten, once I knew most of what had gone on. Things are corrupted in the re-telling, and I like for my own memories to stay sparse and spare in keeping with the horrificness of the events of that war.
On a larger scale? Um. Choke-wrestling Hitler? WHY NOT JUST THROW A FLYING T-REX OR A MECHA GRIZZLY BEAR IN THERE TOO. Seriously. I give Golden Age the benefit of the doubt, because back then it was all "ra-ra, patriotism punching Hitler in the nose", but now? Really?
Blah. I don't know. I find it hard to articulate. I have problems with Cap in such a cardboard cut-out role. I have problems with American views on their involvement in WW2.
Also I'm not a particular fan of the art.
Sorry for the novel XD It's just... a lot of things about this cover set off so very many pet peeves for me. Can't we, as a culture, just... move on from WWII and stop recycling the horror until it's completely cheapened?
