Robinson is a writer long since totally "pitch"-perfect, if you know what I mean. So yes, "personality" does mean "grimdark."
You know what? Ray did have a personality. Jan Strnad and Frank Miller in particular got it. (That was one of the few delights of DK2) It's kind of like a more down to earth Reed Richards, one who likes to teach more than cloister, and get laid more than once in a while. (whereas with Reed I imagine sex as something he just doesn't mind, that's all, but not a personal priority)But has-been Robinson killed it, with prep work by Brad Meltzer.
But I've had no respect for that tool ever since he made LOEG into another Howard the Duck: I always have to say, "I don't mean that bad movie" or "the comic's very different from the movie" and sound like a tool. God damn you, James Robinson and your derivative hackery.
