I assumed that it was because it was more or less implied Lorena pushed her way in on what was probably supposed to be a dinner date between the two of them -- it was a restaurant where she obviously couldn't eat the food (fish, yet ordered it anyway), her body language conveyed that she didn't want to be there (so why not go with any of the other team members doing something else?), and Jaime basically thanked Eddie for coming as a buffer. I think the "girls fighting over a boy" trope is overdone, but I can't say I'd be the picture of patience in the same situation.

I could do without Lorena being all flirtatious. I mean I've never seen any indication she'd act like this before she got inducted to the Teen Titans.

On the other hand the issue had Static and Miss Martian playing DDR. That's all sorts of awesome.

But I still feel like the team doesn't consider Kid Eternity a team member so far he's been used by them to see their dead loved ones and apparently given the issue kept in the car while the others have fun.

What's funny is that I recall reading a Teen Titans fanfic that paired Lorena up with Jaime, Long before jaime met Traci 13 (or either was thought to join the TT). It was a cute scene where nerdy Jaime is horrified to learn that lorena's never watched any of the star wars movies (I could relate) and they proceed to have themselves a star wars movie marathon.

Bumer, I really wanted to like Lorena, but looks like she'll be stereotypical flirty sexy latina. Ugh.

Indeed. My thoughts and confusion on her portrayal here and what she was confuses me.

I can only assume that with Starfire and Rose gone they had to make one of the girls slutty and it was her.

Why do there seem to be so many "bitch feuds" in this comic? Every time I think about picking it up I see snippets like this and it turns me off.

Pros: Jaime Reyes being adorable. Eddie and Virgil being adorable. Jaime and Eddie being adorable. All the boys being adorable together. TRACI!

Cons: Traci being bitchy and OOC. Lorena and Traci, as is usual between the female Titans of this incarnation, being primed to catfight. The girls still being dressed like pin-up models. No Timmy.

And I'd still pick up a copy because I'm such a sucker for Jaime Reyes. First they cancel Robin and then they take away my Blue Beetle. I hate everyone.

I want to read this...even with the bad lorena/latina stereotype/ugly art!

"And yes the 13 is her last name...for reals." Okay, I laughed... but what was Jaime looking at? Lol, that's gotta be the weirdest/funniest face he's made to date. Lol.

Also loved virgil and eddies interaction...."I'm on the phone with Traci!"x2. Lol, that was cute!

But geez, did they forget that Traci's half asian? At least give her black hair (didn't her white dad have black hair too?)

And what the hell is up with Lorena's tank? That screams Tex-Mex to me rather than Cali-mexican...then again...maybe she's trying to impress Jaime?

"Eso depende de como usted lo utiliza" ha ha ha. That made me laugh too much. Its rather formal, but it could work. Hehe...despite how much I hate what's being done to Lorena, seeing her talk in spanish to jaime just makes me giggle in delight for some reason. Hee hee.

"Mi novio bonito." Squeeee!! That's something I would totally say to my boyfriend. Hee hee hee. So cute! Can't blame Lorena for being jealous...(though since when has she been interested in Jaime?)

Hm...the art hurts my eyes, specially that coloring, but I might pick this up. Jaimes adorable and Virgil and Eddie are delightful to read (finally!) And yay it has Traci 13, although she was kinda of a bitch with that line (that sadly made me go...Ohhhhh, no she didn't! Lol!)

Curses! I really wanted to like Lorena, but now she seems to be filling in for Rose's floozy role. And Traci...poor Traci. I won't be surprised if she ends up joining the league of Titan Traitors.(They're already going to off someone, so why not?)...Poor Jaime.

Ironically, I was truly warming up to Bombshell, I especially like the idea of her and Miss Martian bonding.

Also isn't this the same guy who's going to be writing the new Batgirl series? Not sure what to think of him just yet. My, only problems with him so far are his handling of Aquagirl and Traci 13, the rest of the issue seems pretty decent (Don't care for the art, but not his fault). Yet, I didn't expect DC to put much effort in a Batgirl comic anyway.

So, all the guys are acting in form, and all the girls except Traci 13 dress like hookers. Lorena seems to have lost all the character she had in Aquaman and instead become the standard home-wrecker.

I always wonder how writers and artists of the first or particular beloved iterations of characters feel when their creations get mangled.

Anyway, seriously, has the artist here ever really seen a bunch of teenage girls out on the town? Because they are there to *impress*. You might have a few with low-cut, loads-of-belly showing tops, but by and large, even in Maine they tend to go all out - interesting patterns and colours, form-hugging but not necessarly skin-showing, accessories, etc.

I remember a friend of mine who goes to NYU telling me that on that campus, every girl (and many guys) who was any way in with the mainstream social scene was always dressed to the nines. I saw pictures, and I wholeheartedly agree - even to go to the gym there was an a crazy amount of attention to detail. Wearing a belly shirt and jeans? Please. That's Resort/Bar/gonnagetsome uniform.

maybe Traci's being kind of bitchy becaue Jaime told Traci the new girl was flirting with them. Then again she does try to challenge people's beliefs. I mean her father is the biggest skeptic ever and she uses magic.

Hoochie mama Lorena strikes me as kinda (okay, a whole lotta) OOC. And the fish thing-- I would think that the actual reason Lorena won't eat the sushi is because she's sick to death of the stuff-- that's all the residents of Sub Diego had to eat when the city sank. Until someone came up with the idea of cooking the fish over undersea geothermal vents.
