I haven't trusted Dini with women since that Detective Comics issue which consisted of nothing but flimsy excuses to get Poison Ivy tentacle-raped, and nothing's changed my mind since. I especially object to the frequent uses of Zatanna as a mary-sue, most especially when she gets treatment as above; I far preferred her in Morrison's SSoV, where she at least appeared to be at Dr. Strange/Dr. Fate-levels of magical power, an intiguing supporting cast and a well-developed character...rather than, say, a stage magician with just enough powers that she can't prevent from being tied down and humiliated by a couple of moving plants.
Can anyone guarantee that Dini's Zatanna series will have any intelligence or depth, rather than - as I can predict merely from looking at this issue - some flimsy, unoriginal plot thrown loosely around a bunch of cheesecake shots? I'd be impressed if the series didn't once mention Batman, and/or their basically non-existent, never-gonna-hapen-in-a-million-years relationship.
