Loki & Doom: BFFs?
1 page each from Thor #602 and X-Men/Dark Avengers: Utopia.

Loki and Doom just sit and chat (oh and Loki's male again):

And here we see them enjoying a nice glass of wine and some entertainment:

now Doom's rethinking his Dark Reign fantasy with chained-to-his-throne Loki and Emma Frost.

That's what Doom wants you to think. But since he's still in Loki's company we all know the truth.

Oh, thank god. Now maybe we can get back some of that hilariously snarky Loki from that one arc of ASM. And maybe his daughter too.

She is doing laundry. But Reed, being Reed, has made a super-hi-tech washer that removes the dirt by making making it unstable and then teleporting it into a lab where it can be sifted through for new sub atomic particles and things.

But Sue has forgotten to add fabric softener and the damn thing doesn't want to open and she is weighing her options which include 1) using a force-field to crack it open like an egg and telling Reed to "take your hi-tech washer and shove it I'm going to the Laundromat on the 3rd floor!" or 2) letting it finish the load and then taking it to the laundromat on the 3rd floor and telling Reed it's broken so he'll spend 4 hours fixing it and stay out of her way.

Out of curiosity, how can anti-mutant tension be "at an all time high", when there aren't even enough of them to fill a decent sized high school WORLDWIDE?

...Joe Quesada?

In any event, it's a terrible slip-up as Mutants can't be seen as a gigantic threat with their numbers dwindled and Mary Suesborn and his DARRRK GRIMVENGERS protecting everyone. Morrison's run - where Mutants were beginning to have their own individual culture and freedom rather than just being 'normal people, except born with powers, and everyone hates them' - would have been the ideal point for an all-time peak in Mutant hatred. Logically, since then it should have fallen, and hasn't. How...dull.

Fraction's unremarkable writing doesn't help, nor do Silvestri's angular pencils.

I miss Grant Morrison's mutant culture, but I like Fraction's "unremarkable" writing.

That's what gets me too. It makes very little sense, as I'd expect people in the Marvel Universe to be more concerned of random Skrulls still living among them than anything else.

But once again, the average Marvel Universe citizen is roughly less smart than a broken brick.

Month 3(?): Carol Danvers Is Still (Not) Dead.

I expect she'll just be there until Reed brings her back shortly in her own book. Jim Shooter would've beaten Bendis with a tire iron by now. I do love the current NA lineup, though. (Except Jessica fucking Drew)

Hi there, Carol, looking good. Am I totally off-base in thinking that the Ms. Marvel book might take place in some universe parallel to the rest of the MU?

Also, what the heck happened to Sue's body? O_o

I skimmed this, I think. I hated the scene where Cyclops looked at Ares and worried about them having to find a way to beat him some day. God of War or not, he's slightly more powerful than Hercules and plenty of people take him on.

Between Phoenix, the demons of Limbo, Onslaught and a ton of other characters he doesn't seem all that threatening.

Two questions:

1: How long has Loki been back in his old body?

2: What the hell is up with Sue? It looks like if she stood up straight, she'd be leaning over backward to the point where she was looking up at the ceiling. And her butt is way too big, and there is no room in that waist for a lower intestine, and oy yoy yoy, she just looks WRONG!

3: Why do we have to have another 'prejudice against mutants is skyrocketing' storyline? It's been done to death. Why can't we have a storyline where mutants are suddenly idolized by everybody?

When you really think about it, Doom is the biggest pillar of the Cabal. Namor and Loki both are "closer" to Doom and probably more loyal to him than to Osborn. Which is why Dark Reign is a waste of time imo, we all know Doom is going to be the next megabaddie after it's over.
