You can't possibly really believe that the Batman franchise is still the Batman franchise if Thomas and Martha are hanging out in the Manor drinking tea with Alfred while Bruce does his thing.
Mwahahahaha! *shifty eyes* Maybe. I don't think it would be all that surprising if the Waynes were brought back to life for a little while. I would definitely be surprised if it were permanent, though. IIRC, Batman RIP hinted at the possibility that Thomas Wayne might be alive. I wouldn't put it past them to actually do it. (And especially when we're talking about Batman, I feel less protective of him in canon, because I know he's one of those characters that will constantly be re-invented and re-interpreted that one weird story arc isn't going to affect him forever. Frank Miller can't keep warm and fuzzy Batman at bay forever, you know? With other characters, I fully accept that their positions are a lot more precarious in canon.)
*Bruce* might still be broken, sure, if he works the way a person does, but the literary legitimacy of his brokenness would most assuredly be gone.
I think Jason Todd, his trophy case, and those who angst in its vicinity would beg to differ, though.
"Let's have Diana not be Diana for like a zillion issues, and then let's make her Diana again for like, one, and then make her not Diana again because wouldn't that be fun to explore."
Obviously, you have the edge on me in terms of familiarity with WW canon (I'm not as familiar with it and it doesn't stick in my head the way Bat/Bird stuff does). I'm not entirely sure where it says "this is what it'll be like for three years," and I only started reading WW last September. So.
But I can totally understand that because Wonder Woman has had such a complicated past, has gone through so many changes over the years, and has to fight for relevancy more than Supes and Bats, that for the sake of establishing consistency for her mythos and thereby her importance in the DCU, going back and forth between something that should be a standard for her and a Bruce Wayne-with-a-gun kind of situation could be detrimental.
But from my still relatively newbie-POV, it's not a big problem. Especially if the story continues on to eventually fix the problem, which I do see as likely, and I'm guessing will have the effect of proving why being an Amazon and worshipping the gods is important to her mythos.
