Even if he's not (and I kind of suspect he isn't), the fact that anyone even seems to think that he could have died in that manner is still ridiculous.
Yeah, it's mostly this. I don't think he's dead for a minute - even if Gail does intend for him to be, which I doubt, someone else will bring him back. But it's dumb that she was able to get that close to him in the first place or that he'd even pretend to be dead - her labrys should just klonk off his head, or he should remanifest right behind her as his "corpse" falls, or something. And it's even dumber that everyone (especially Proud Zeus who would never miss an opportunity to remind a mortal of the superiority of deities) is acting like it took.
Also, a willingness to kill Ares (who is a person, and can and has been a benefit to society from time to time) after all that ridiculous nonsense about not killing Genocide (who's basically elemental malevolence) and the idea that this is a good, acceptable thing and so was that... it's very fail-y, and sort of does the precise opposite of refuting her questioning of her morals last issue.
As for the rest, it's the sort of thing that would make Geoff Johns smile with delight.
