You know, for the "talkie" companion class, I wrote a paper about how it's a damn shame that Victor Fleming basically languishes in obscurity these days, and about two months ago I flipped through an issue of the New Yorker to find David Denby making the same arguments I did. I'm thinking of fleshing out the silent class paper into an article and sending it to the New Yorker. They won't publish it, but at least I'd have tried.
