Had, sweetness, had.;) I got rid of them some time back. Hearing that Northstar was going to be a character in a flagship title was what got me to give Marvel a chance again after a hiatus of three or four years. I didn't think the first couple of appearances under Austen were so bad, but...yeah, it got pretty ripe in short order. And even Larroca couldn't save that fugly anime costume they put him in.
I never warmed up to the idea of JP with Bobby. Speaking as someone who really liked Bobby during the Lobdell years, Iceman was such an utter asshole under Austen that my first instinct was simply, "Northstar deserves better". Secondly, JP falling for a straight man had been done previously and much more cracktastically more entertainingly in the Aurora/Sasquatch/Northstar triangle. Thirdly, having Northstar fall for an uninterested straight guy felt a lot like another iteration of "tell don't show" when it comes to Marvel and gay characters actually acting on their sexual preference -- having JP fall for Iceman was safe, because he got to be gay without doing anything potentially upsetting to the fanbase, like say, having an actual romantic relationship with another man on-screen.
So, yeah, never going to be able to board that 'ship, I'm afraid.
