It looks like the original Reverse Flash, Professor Zoom (whose neck Barry snapped, and who never entered the Speed Force) is inexplicably corrupting all that is good and fast...


Maybe we'll get Max back, but I doubt it.

Thanks, When I first read it I thought johns was having barry turn into every variation of the flash concept as cliffhangers! The art is so busy I couldn't tell whether it was barry appearing in two places because of how fast he was or two people

Its been a while since I read it, but I don't really recall Hal regretting his return...in fact he seemed pretty pumped. Obviously he felt bad about all the crap that happened, but never to the point of 'Wah, being alive again sucks.' All in all, Hal's return went much more smoothly. And really, you don't expect someone who has been dead for a while to have missed their friends?

Last page reveals aren't exactly unusual either

Barry isn't possessed either. The equivalent would be if Hal came back WITHOUT Parallax, but as a channel for Parallax's power into the world. People would've staked him through the heart, no doubt.

Barry comes back as DEATH and people are all "Ohnoes! Let's put him in a bottle!"

..Bodes well for the Black Lanterns? :)

Okay, that is really bad writing with Superman there. Superman has stated in several issues of several titles that The Flash (Barry or Wally) is faster than him, so is Geoff Johns just throwing that comment out there so he can do a "Hero-One-Upsy" like he always does? I'm saying yes.

I wish I could feel bad for Superman but it happens every time in his book. Just look at Chris Kent, a fully grown kryptonian heroic male given a bullshit technobabble excuse as to why he is weaker than superman just because it superman.

You know, I've always been a huge Flash fan, but...this is just...guh.

I don't even get the sentiment. Has Professor Zoom taken over the Speed Force? Isn't Max's body still possessed by The Rival? Does Geoff Johns even give a shit about continuity?

Why not? Superman already has just about every super power ever conceived by the human imagination. Flash should have some sort of edge against that.

I imagine some say it's dead even, some might even give the edge to Clark. I say a speedster should edge out a Kryptonian most of the time, or "Fastest Man Alive" doesn't mean much. I don't think Barry should pull away from Clark that easily based on all the Super vs. Flash races I've seen where the outcome isn't certain, sometimes not even resolved. Maybe speedsters should be much faster instead of slightly faster, I just don't think they are/have been. Of course, nothing about Barry is normal Barry or even normal Flash so far, so why not, I guess.

I have to say, I was kind of excited to see Prof. Zoom again, and Johnny as long as it lasted. Needs more Terrific Whatzit, tho.
