Cyclops/Corsair: One Perfect Moment
You know, I've got to say, this is pretty rare. I'm posting frequently, and participating in an event week. What happened to the oblivious simplicity of lurking and chuckling at the communities fascination with Dick Grayson? And why haven't any bondage Robin pics been posted as perfect moments, since I'm sure several people would declare those as perfect?

Anyways, enough rambling. Here's another perfect moment for Cyclops, but in my bid to highlight some less popular/more unlikely characters, its a perfect moment for his dad Corsair too...

This one comes from Uncanny X-Men #391, one month after Colossus' sacrifice to cure the Legacy Virus (he got better) and a few months before the leather clad era in the team (they went back to spandex). The issue revolves around Cyclops and Corsair camping as they try to get to know each other better. There is, of course, a lot of fighting, power usage misunderstanding, and some manly tears on Corsair's part. But, of course, the last page has a pretty sweet sentiment...

Its always felt like a pretty cool moment to me. Its a shame that no one in the Summers family is allowed to be happy ever, but then again, we've already covered the "Scott Summers is a dick" in a previous post.

And before anyone can pick apart that last panel, HE'S JUST RESTING HIS HEAD IN HIS LAP PERVS. ^_^

I always wondered why some of my friends referred to taking their gfs into their tent for a quickie "hitting the sack" , compared to "going to sleep".

Now I know.

YAY, SOMEONE REMEMBERED CORSAIR!

That is all.

No, it isn't. I shall now have to post some Starjammers, shan't I? Corsair! Ch'od! Raza! Mam'sell Hepzibah!

(Also, what issue of what is this from?)

I thought that was totally lame, and I've read all of, like, one issue with Corsair in it.

Oh, they'll be coming, trust me on that one... I wanted to have a few little treats to scan through the length of the week! :)

Yeah, yeah, I remember this, it was very sweet.

Of course the S_D part of me is thinking "GLLUGHLUGHLUGHLUHG"

...but yes, it was a nice moment for the Summerses.

Yeah, I think even the cleanest minds see that last panel and just go right to that. I think Corsair is supposed to be beaming with pride, but the look on his face, and the way Scott's hair makes it ambiguous where his face is...

Just a horrible layout.

Honestly, I did not go there until you pointed it out.

Then again, after years of reading comics with Luke Cage in them, I only, just last night, figured out that "Sweet Christmas!" is supposed to be a bowdlerization of "Sweet Jesus!" Years. Soooooo ... *scuffs foot* Prolly not a representative sample.

I don't know why Scott's dad reminds me of "Pirates of dark water", but some how it makes the Summers family history make sense....

Very d'awww moment, also I just wish for the entire Summers family to go out for a picnic or something, I mean has Corsair met Cable or Rachel? (heck has he even met Emma?).

But yeah it would be like the craziest picnic and you know it would end in a typical fight with a badguy (like Mr. Sinister) also Deadpool would so crash for the free food and also Nate is there.

Wait, "the four of us"?

Doesn't Scott have two brothers? So, wouldn't three kids plus parents make five people?

His mom was there too, he's talking about the morning before the plane crash where he and Alex were seperated from them as children.

His mom was still pregnant with Vulcan at this point, and I'm not entirely sure she was even aware she was pregnant.
