One Perfect moment did we have a Spider-man one yet?
This scene really defines Spider-man as a character and is one of the best most memorable comic stories of all time.

That is indeed a truly lovely little moment! Emotionally manipulative as all hell of course, but that's beside the point!

As much as I love this classic moment in Spidey lore, I know that the current powers that be in Spidey editorial may use this moment to reveal once again who is under the mask as they resurrect the dead boy, keep his brain alive and toture the kid for info...

still, love this great, humanizing moment in the legend of Spiderman. It showed Peter having a good soul.

It's okay; as of BND, this story never happened.

Nah, it happened; they just revoked a dying child's last wish, that's all.

"Spider-Man, will you show me who you are?"

"Sure thing!"

*Spider-Man goes to remove his mask, trips and slams into a wall causing the building to collapse, killing them all the children.*

Darn that Parker luck.

And it sucked! Because they stretched it way further than it ever should have gone! And threw in Doctor Octopus and his Octo-Bot! And a cabdriver who was stereotypically Jamaican AND a stereotypical 'you go, girl' type! And gratuitous Superman references that didn't make any sense! And cabbies were formed into a posse to save the day, and I believe Madame Web got involved somehow, if I remember correctly, and oh, it sucked. By and large, I like that show, but that episode was just eye-roll city.

Awh, I liked the taxi driver posse, if only because it felt so wonderfully late 80s/early 90s movie.

Also, Madame Web was always a plus.

Well, yeah, if you're just going 'Woo! Fun!', and for most of the series, that's fine, but that isn't the point of the story they're adapting. The story is supposed to be POIGNANT, and somewhat tragic, not filled with annoying Jamaican accents and big explosions and 'Octo-Bots'. If you can't adapt a story like that for the small screen without those things, then you should leave it alone.

Well okay, that I can see. It was still poignant at the end I think though? And to make a whole half-hour sail on the tragic intimacy of spider-man and a dying kid would be both very very tricky and exhausting.

But I hadn't pondered it that way before. I guess maybe it is a bit too much of a see-saw.

Motto.

I know this was posted in its entirety on Old S_D, but I don't remember the title of the post.
