The return of leather!Doom...

This is from the G.L.A. miniseries. It's written by Dan Slott and illustrated by Paul Pelletier.

In #1, there's a flashback showing how the Great Lakes Avengers were formed.

In #3, Squirrel Girl is a new member of the team.

Later...

Big Bertha is returning home...

And finally, in #4...

Leather Boy is later dropped off with the police.

Slott was so great before he drank the Brand New Day Kool-aid. He still has brief flashes of teh funny, but it's just not the same.

I thought Bertha was a thin person whose mutant power was to become super-obese, not the other way around (Else, why the comment about "People who can look past the fat")

That being said, poor Monkey Joe :( ("Unnatural acts???") and I like Deathurge coming as a species specific manifestation (Though I also thought Deathurge was the embodiment of suicidal impulses and inherent death wishes)

No, you're right.

She didn't say "people who can look past the fat." She said "people who can look past that."

And she was referring to the GLA's ability to look past her being one of the hottest girls in the world. You know, as opposed to being superficial and only caring about her good looks.

Aw hell nah. This mini was an excellent and much-needed piss-take on Avengers: Disassembled and Identity Crisis.

My love for this mini surpasseth all understanding. I just don't want to know what Leather Boy made his armor out of... or who.
