Angelo Espinosa, Dragon Slayer
Lemme start this off with a bit ol' (removed as requested).

Okay, there. Now that I've gotten that out of the way...

Once upon a time, the merry crew of Generation X ended up getting kidnapped by Fairies. While Jono and Everett end up wearing kilts and fighting the English some guys who's purpose I never really figured out, then helped Sean and Emma rescue some elves, most of our band of heroes were shanghaied by a pink skinned fairy to fix the Glamor Machine.

While Monet is zoning out, doing that thing she does, Angelo and Penance answer the door and finds this:

Scan removed to keep in compliance with the new rules, but as everyone else is celebrating Jono getting the Glamor Machine working again, Angelo and Penny return triumphant against the dragon... and nobody notices.

From Generation X #8-9, Scott Lobdell, Tom Grummett

Edit: Quick question: What do you all want to see me post next? Jono vs. Omega Red, or some Emplate stuff?

I miss Gen X, especially good Gen X, the only way this would've been better would've been if Bachalo had done the art, but Grummett is great too.

I'd like to see Jono vs Omega Red. *nods*

Since it was lost when Scans_Daily went down, I'll try and repost sometime this week.

I think my icon says it all in this case.

I loved it when Penny was her own character and not M's missplaced brain or whatever...

I'm confused. What did Penance do?

They never showed on-screen, but presumably she pulled a slice and dice on the dragon after realizing that his scales were no match for her claws.

someone needs to make an icon of Penance pointing at the dragons bum with the caption "surprise butsecks".

Well, since I got these scans for making icons ANYWAY...

You need to edit this post right away. Disrespecting creators is how we got nuked last time AND it's specifically against the new com's rules.

And are you sure this is only a third of the book? I count more than 6 pages. Most of the old s_d posts are illegal now, and you have to modify to suit.

It's from two books, but you're right, there's an extra page. I'll go fix.

But there are more polite ways to put that.

I apologize! Panicked at the F-bomb. I keep reading about us being under a microscope and how comic news people keep linking here and trolls repeating what we've said at this site. Some people have too much time on their hands.

No worries. As one of those who got an e-mail from the LJ Abuse Team, I can understand a little paranoia

Uh, no, massive copyright violation is what did. The whole point of S_D is that it's our place to express just how we feel about both the product and the people who make it.

You have no idea how much I wish that was true. :(

1. The golden rule, also known as the Thumper's Dad rule: All posts and comments are to maintain a respectful tone towards fellow Homo sapiens. Posts or comments making rude remarks about other members of this community, their expressions of fannish enthusiasm, comics creators, or even people not remotely associated with comics will not be tolerated. It's perfectly fine to disagree with others and to express your own opinions, but if you can't do so without making it personal, then that's probably a sign that you should take a step back from that conversation.

Note: if you see someone making insulting comments, do not respond in kind. Contact a moderator to let them know about it.

And you are more than welcome to do so if you can do it politely. For example, I could go on for ages about how Bob McBobberson's "classic" storyline Rat-Lass: Back from the Brink is crypto-conservative, sexist garbage - which is a shame, because Rat-Lass: Back from the Brink would be a great title for a comic - but I wouldn't be allowed to call him a misogynist fucktard. Or whatever.

I'm not sure where the horror at basic societal convention is coming from, but these are the rules of the community, and honestly it's not a huge change - it's expanding the protection that members get (i.e. the expectation that if you're a member, that other members aren't allowed to be jerks to you) to everybody, including non-members. It's not an exemption from criticism.
