Re: D:
I'm not surprised - they probably wanted to show off. A Scottish accent is a really fiendishly difficult thing to get right, assuming you A: are not Scottish yourself, and B: have little opportunity to do research. I know this because a few years ago I was taking voice acting classes, and for some reason, I decided to try out a Scottish accent on this script that I was assigned to do. Well, first off, it turned out to be the absolute worst choice possible for the role (there was a note on the script that I didn't see which read something like 'should sound like Adam West'), and secondly, I discovered that I SUCK at doing a Scottish accent. Nobody could figure out what the hell I was trying to do - I got guesses that ranged from French to Eastern European. When the teacher asked me if I'd learned anything from this, I said "Yeah. When in doubt, don't do Scottish." (Not what she wanted to hear, by the way.) So the moral of this story is that A: my accents suck, and therefore B: anyone who IS good at them should be damn proud of themselves, and flaunt their skills whenever they can.
