I could never get into this title at the time, which is probably my loss. I think I was going through my student "Trying to hard to be grown up and mature" phase, which mercifully past without further incident, and left me back at my usual juvenile self who can still appreciate whimsy, which has lasted me just fine 99.8% of the time since then...

This reminds me of the mock solicitation Desmond Devlin did for the
MAD
Fundalini Pages some years back, parodying DC's endless "Crisis" events. It promised the violent death of thousands of DCU characters, each of whom would of course be duly resurrected.

OR...stumble around trying to change characters to suit what the editors have decided, even ones that had nothing wrong with them, then realize the fans hate what you come up with and spend the next twenty-three years trying to fix it without success.
A company could do that too.
