You have to be careful with the word racist. The very fact that you took the time to lecture me on this proves exactly why. No lectures are needed.
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here.
It's not about me.
It's important to keep it that way.
I'm only speaking for myself here, but I'm sure I've thought or said racist things at various points in my life, despite the fact that I've cared about racism and known it was wrong from an early age. If I always precluded myself from the possibility that I, (thoughtful me, smart me, who cares about racism and discrimination and doesn't like it when people are mean to each other) could ever be racist, I might stop listening to the thoughts/opinions/experiences/complaints of those who are subjected to or victimized by racism.
I might stop learning.
Personally, that would be my worry with that kind of thinking.
