Gotham Knights #7 - Alfred Pennyworth & Leslie Thompkins

I've always loved these two and the Steph insanity aside, I'm a big Leslie fan too. So I thought I'd post this.

	The page where kid Bruce refuses to open his mouth and can't help correcting Leslie is one of my favourite ever. Particularly for Leslie's comment that she's never met a child who could resist such an opportunity. I love how with just that sentence, she makes Bruce seem so normal. And also Leslie laughing at Alfred telling her he's resigning. It was my reaction as well. (Reply to this)

	laughs Alright, you got me. Of course, that was an Elseworlds basically, and doesn't change my point about the disparate treatment of BatMAN and BatGIRL's respective recoveries from similar injuries, but still I can't argue your point. :) (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

To be fair, he had his spinal cord bruised and compressed. Some people have recovered nearly fully from injuries like that. (I believe Bruce was like 75% recovered already before his magical healing. He was walking, he just wasn't going to be running the rooftops anytime soon.)

Barbara had a portion of her spine blown away. In terms of medical science, there's no coming back from that.

Of course, it still makes no sense for Barbara to be in the wheelchair when Zatanna can just swoop in and say "enips s'arabrab laeH", but internal logic is always the first thing to go in a shared universe, amirite?

	....Yeah, well, there were 20 years before the rules of magic got rewritten that they could have done it! XD Besides, I'm pretty sure there's some powerful healers around, like Raven, who could do the trick without using magic per se. 	Alfred is probably the only member of the bat clan I haven't wanted to strangle at least once (send on a holiday to Tahiti, but never strangle). Thanks for this Gotham Knights is a fantastic series, and I wish they'd release more of the Batfamily stuff in TPB (Reply to this)
