Collins' Jason, "I graduated from Crime Alley" notwithstanding, is a great deal softer than Starlin's. Duffy's is arguably too soft to be Jason (but it was only for one story, so I choose to view it as simply another facet of the character instead of not-Jason), but Collins' had a balance between street tough and kid. One of Collins' Jason most remarkable qualities was how fundamentally honest, self-reliant and pragmatic he was. Scrappy.
I can't hate on Starlin's Jason. Starlin's Jason was doomed, but I like my doomed Jason. It's a neverending source of heartbreak, but there you go.
Not sure if I'd say it's the ugliest, but it certainly ranks up there.
