Yeah, but what she actually did was stand on streets with him, didn't she? It's barely even taunting. She brought herself to his attention by standing where he could see her, and then he decided to drag her into a van and she fought back when he put his hands on her.
I can see why it's not pure self-defense, of course, but I think she's probably right that if this was presented to a jury they wouldn't want her in jail. Not just because of the whole "he killed my sister" thing but because he actually was in the middle of trying to kill her and she knew it.
