Re: Babs needs to walk again
We're definitely on different pages. Sure, Robin was introduced in the Golden Age, but there have been long stretches of Robin-less Batman and that's when he's been at his best. As I said, Robin exists to lighten up and kid-safe Batman, and those are things I feel should never happen.
Batman should never, ever be a father, or a husband. Especially not a father, as he knows what it's like to lose one and how dangerous what he does is. How could he morally put someone else in the position of losing a parent like he did? It makes no sense.
Ideally, there should be no Damien or other biological sons, and Dick Grayson should be the first and only Robin, long since gone onto being Nightwing. When brought up, it should be referred to as "a bad idea brought about by bad circumstances, it's a miracle it didn't turn out worse than it did".
If Jason Todd has to exist, and there are potentially good stories if he does, he should be a Robin who took the mantle on his own, and rebelled when Batman tried to bring him into line --a rebellion that got himself killed. He should be the last, and a brief one at that.
Just how I feel. And sorry if the earlier post came across as harsh, I didn't mean to insult you and reading it again I was a little rude. I should have dialed it back some. Sorry about any offense.
