Hm, y'think? I'm not sure I'd get that from this, though admittedly that's more my sense of "what Miller intended" based on his... Millerness. It seems like a read against the grain, much the way, say, Babs/Dinah is - the evidence may perfectly obvious to someone who knows or cares what a queer relationship is like, but it's Dixon, he meant them to be friends. Similarly, my sense of Miller's concept of prostitution (oy, SIN CITY) suggests that even if he portrayed that nuance, his intent was otherwise (and of course subsequent portrayals by other authors who followed his lead further reinforce the stereotyped streetwalker take).
