When the Shade Met Neron

The Shade is out looking for an immortal with a demonically possessed poster, when suddenly a guy who dresses like a flamboyant villain in an Eighties action film shows up.

Oh Shade. Never stop being this awesome.

That reminds me, I need to get the second Starman omnibus.

'Course, Neron did get his revenge in the end by powering up a bunch of old Starman villains, who then decimated the city. Though he probably would have done that anyways...

Squee! I love the Shade.

...

And I found his shadow-licking to be strangely sexy. May I please have some motto so I don't feel weird? XD

Motto! But then, you might not want it from me, since I am a little odd...

Oh, I'll take any motto I can get just so I don't feel weird myself. XD

Ah, the shadowy, shadowy man I grew to love. Always a treat. I was never sure about Neron being quite so vindictive though; he'd already seemed happy enough to have other's turn him down, as long as they didn't DEFY him (cf Mongul)

Probably to make Shade look cooler. Starman was pretty good, but there were some times when characters were torn down to make the main cast/villains look cooler (Justice League Europe being the best example).

Faced with all of this Shade-being-awesome, and all I can think of is how much I like the colourist. This is from, what? The Nineties? I thought all the good colourists crumpled and died in the ninties.

The Shade has always been one of my favorite DC characters.

Starman was amazing. Art, writing... everything about it was great.

Ten pages? Two comics? Big comic? You know the drill. -_-

Well I don't know the size of the comic due to it being out of print for some ten years now, while at the same time not being collected anywere.

I'll take down two pages though, as I think that's what the rules are it's it? I'm unclear because they seem to have undergone several revisions over the past few weeks.

One third. So if you know the issue, we can just google it and find out how many pages would be legal.

Not a clue, sorry.

Hmm, I think that it might have been a Starman annual, but other than that I don't know.

Taken two pages down though, just to make sure, as I doubt the whole issue would be less than 21 pages.

I love how the Shade is so utterly unimpressed with Neron -- it's hard to scare any immortal who has really fine control over his quite impressive power.

Neron has *nothing* Shade wants, and isn't clever enough to figure out what to offer him.

Why is this the first time I've ever even heard of the Shade? He looks extremely interesting.

*Heads to Wikipedia*

He was on Justice League (not his best depiction but I liked him.)
