Whoa, on Nova. I found this when I was 15, and thought the idea of metallic gold a flame was a HUGE turn on. . I got some golddust liquid latex and had a friend apply it to me . I strutted around in it for 2 hours before it fell apart.

Great cover. Luv the rich colors and shadows. I think this is the best non Kirby FF story :)

You know, I'd hope that if Cap got sick and had to destroy entire worlds (possibly full of sentient life) just to survive... he'd say "Kill me, guys," not "I have a right to life!"

Also: "girls I'd like to fist", best tag ever or BEST TAG EVER? It's so clear and concise, good for anything from [info]blairwaldorfs to [info]bakula_daily.

It is the best tag ever. But [info]volksjager, didn't you also originally use it on an earlier post, some comic about a young woman who does magic at dance clubs? What happened, the two of you had a falling out? ;-)

ah, I thought the idea for tags was that you could serch for similar posts with the same tag subject matter. Have I got this wrong ?

There are many "girls I'd like to fist" :)

LOL. What I meant was that that earlier post also had that tag and now it doesn't; I was trying to find it again via the tag; that's why I asked.

Of course I don't expect you to be monogamous with a fictional character. Where's the fun in that?

Okay, problem solved: you'd tagged the earlier post (on Pull Shapes) with "girls i want to fist." You may wish to edit the tags for consistency.

Or (he said, pre-emptively flaming himself) I may wish to get a life. Either way.

Meh, "girls I'd like to fist" just comes across as sort of sleazy IMHO, and not in the fun sense of sleazy.

It sounds like a category on a Spike TV show.

Meanwhile, I really miss the many tags that made scans_daily very fun, like, anatomy doesn't work that way. We totally could also use foeyay and hoyay.

Surely. Whatever makes people happy in the short time we have here. I do think a Troll doll fetish might be something new, but then there are probably conventions where people have sex dressed as Troll dolls...

The relative sizes of the fist and the vagina may have something to do with it, too. Not everyone has a slim, long-fingered artist's hand.

Seriously tho, fisting like anything else requires something called "communication" between the two (or more) persons involved. If you don't have that ,WTH are doing with them in the first place :)

[info]dr_hermes

Aside from "communication", there's also something called "physical incompatibility." Luckily, of course, there are many alternatives.

You're right, I never thought of it that way but you're spot on. I remembered really liking her as a character, and being sad that they broke up such a good pairing between her and the Surfer in such a cheap, hamhanded fashion, but it hadn't occurred to me that she was the only female character of her type. That just makes it extra sad. :(

I had to look her up, but according to this http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix2/plasmahavok.htm she was never a herald to Galactus, she instead was somehow linked to the Living Monolith.

Cool character though, thanks for bringing her up. :)

Hmm, not that one. Here. Apparently, 'Plasma' was it's alternate universe name (In Heroes Reborn). It normally goes by the manly title, Stardust.

The wiki contains some discussion about whether or not Stardust/Plasma is he/she/it.

[info]kitty_tc_69
2009-04-11 06:18 pm UTC (link)
Ah, I'd forgotten about that one too. Though I have to admit I'd be hard-pressed to call Stardust a female character, as s/he/it seems to have been designed as neuter. Which means that with Nova we still lost the only herald that could convincingly be called a woman.

Damn Ron Marz.

Out of curiosity, volksjager, have you ever seen 'Tipping the Velvet'? It's a BBC miniseries about lesbians in the Victorian era - very good stuff. The reason I bring it up is there's a scene where the main character is naked and covered in gold paint, for the purpose of masquerading as a sort of 'living statue' - she actually looks very similar to Nova (or she would, if she were on fire), and my mind flashed back to it as I read the comic and your commentary. I don't know what your tastes in film are, but I'd recommend it - it's not only very well done, it's interesting historically.
