It reminds me once talking to the head of an acting school about theater majors. He said he tended to prefer the non-theater major young actor because sometimes if kids who just concentrated on acting had those skills but didn't have as much knowledge of the world or ability to interpret text to be able to create characters well. I always remembered that because it made so much sense. If art's about life, knowledge of things outside the art form is just as necessary as the art skills are.
