While the backup copy was good(though big, of course) I'm thankful that my packrat habits branch out to my computer enough that I have not only all the scans I ever scanned for use on s_d saved but also any scan I ever thought was interesting so today I give you...

These were originally scanned by gregx on LJ, whom I thank greatly for that, as I don't have a copy of the source(which I have been looking for and have written around here somewhere but oddly can't find so if someone wants to help me out with that I'd be grateful). Anywho...

Hmmm, this... seems familiar, doesn't it? Something, a certain 90s show... It's on the tip of my tounge...

Wizard of Oz?

No, that's not it... it was on Disney I think...

Oh right, I mentioned it in the cut, didn't I?

XP
A parody of Gargoyles by the writer of Gargoyles. Can it get more perfect than that?

Also, good end.

I just love how casually Behemoth introduces his evil twin.

Man, Gargoyles rocked. And now I kind of want to see Xanatos's French counterpart.

I'm pretty sure they could enlist Firestorm to "sculpt" replacement gargoyles. These ones wouldn't spontaneously spring to life . . . unless Ronnie was feeling mischievous.

Signing up on IJ for the sole purpose of enjoying this community...

I don't think these characters ever showed up again, which is probably for the best considering.

Oh, one-shot homages/parodies are definitely the best kind of homages-slash-parodies. Like the Gargoyle statue The Spectacular Spider-Man smashed that one time. In and out and gone.

(Hey everybody, remember Season 3: The Goliath Chronicles? The longest series of Worst Episodes Ever ever? 'Cause I sure don't. Man City of Stone was the bomb.)

No such thing as the Goliath Chronicles. I disbelieve the illusion.

Indeed, there was only two wonderful seasons and then the comic series(which is still supposed to come out with a second trade sometime, I think). Goliath Chronicles doesn't even sound like a good name.

City of Stone was awesome, then again I loved pretty much all the arcs/episodes that had to do with Demona.

Unfortunately I'm not sure the exact source of this(though I have been looking).

As for the Gargoyles comic, Disney raised the price of the contract and Slave Labor Graphics could no longer afford to put it out. Though, as per the original contract, there should be a second graphic novel/trade with added material coming out later in the year.

Thanks for posting this. I bought this comic just for this story. But I thought I'd point out that Carey Bates and Greg Weisman were also the creators of the post-Crisis Captain Atom.
