Wow, Reed could not make it more obvious how bored he is to write Carol, could he? I can almost understand the change of Wolverine to Dark Wolverine, and making the book about Daken, given it wouldn't hurt Logan to lose one book (and you can guarantee he'll still be involved in the stories), but given we've got the Dark Reign: Hawkeye series starting up, and the Sinister Spider-Man coming shortly, was there really any need to kill Carol off for a villainous stand-in that won't last? Personally, given how crap the sales must be on this book, I think they're just doing this to spite people, it's the only thing that makes sense.
Plus, I had to scoff at how Reed had the nerve to call Carol's death 'big' and 'dramatic', when it was neither. As much as I've disliked some issues of Ms Marvel, she deserved a much better send off than this, if she's even dead at all. It was pretty much the biggest whimper of a death since Janet, a few months back, and this really says something about the current state of Marvel - That a lot of things are done purely for shock effect. What's worse is that I guarantee people will keep buying this and keep feeding themselves this horseshit. I suppose it's like a car crash and being unable to look away.
