The layouts are pretty good, yeah, and I can't deny the dynamic violence of that first panel - it's one of the reasons that Slam stands out among the others (more on this in my next Slam post.) Nonetheless, the artstyle is still very primitive - even by the time Shuster started doing Superman a year later, his art had developed hugely in terms of detail and atmosphere. The Slam Bradley style has an enjoyable way of depicting rollicking violence but is not much for anything else.
