Thank you for the brief look into comics' history. More retrospecives along this line are very welcome.
I take issue with the comment, however, about Joe Shuster's art. While Shuster may have lacked the technical skill for detail (and the over-rendering that's been so in vogue since the nineties), Shuster is fairly underated for his skill for layout and action. His art may look simple and childish compared to average modern art, but compared to his contemporaries, Shuster was one of the greats.
