That's true. Eric Bana did well by his part--actually, he seemed to be ignoring the movie around him.
I remember though that a friend said, "When Brad Pitt is the most interesting thing in a movie with Peter O'Toole in it, you're in trouble." Myself, I was just amazed how they went out of their way to twist the story backward on so very many well-known details. And I couldn't see why. But that's often the case with Hollywood, of course, and is why I fucking hate Hollywood.
