Re: Pardon my borked HTML.
Granted, DD is not exactly an aristocrat, but he's pretty much a self-made man. I mean, his dad was poor, but not desperately so - he was still a reasonably successful boxer who still got matches every now and then - and following his dad's death and his subsequent blinding, he pretty much went straight through school into college with scholarships galore (probably extra ones due to his disability), and set up his own practice pretty quickly afterwards. (Granted, I am hardly an expert on the character, but this is my impression.) He has had a TASTE of being poor, yes, but that was as a child, during which time it was mainly his father's problem - throughout most of his adult life, he has been self-employed in a high-paying profession. It's not surprising that he has a tendency to poo-poo such things as the need to make a living. I know little about Moon Knight's childhood, but yeah, that sounds about right for the character. As an ex-mercenary himself, it's not surprising that he sympathizes with Luke.
