Guess the conversation
Looking over a few unlettered preview images for the upcoming Incredible Hercules #138 (due out at the end of the month), you can sort of follow the conversation that the characters are having, which is fun.

Edit: now with a preview image of Mighty Avengers #32, featuring Hercules.

First image:

First three panels (obvious): they get Hebe to show them the layout of the building.

Four panel: Condescending and/or insensitive comment from USAgent (start of a theme here).

Fifth panel: they talk about having to get through that door.

First two: more of a tour of the building, including Hephaestus' forge.

Three: Hebe brings up Typhon, and, from the looks of it, the fact that he's sleeping with Hera now. Kid Zeus is annoyed.

Four: Hebe cries at, I don't know, mom and dad not being together?

Five: Condescending and/or insensitive comment from USAgent.

First: Herc takes issue with whatever he said.

Two-Three: USAgent digs himself deeper.

Four-Five: Kid Zeus takes issue with whatever he said.

In conclusion: John is great in groups.

Also, from Tom Brevoort's blog, a preview image of an upcoming issue of Mighty Avengers:

I guess she's lying down there to be level with Herc there.

Oh, phew. I thought that was Alan Moore for a second.

Kid Zeus was not impressed with LOEG v.3.

But...it's not even finished yet. They've only gotten Chapter 1 of 3 out thusfar.

Unless you're referring to Black Dossier, which was more meant to be an extended Secret-Files-type supplement with a story tying it together.

Alan Moore wouldn't wear a business suit. If he absolutely had to wear clothes, he would dress elegantly like a Victorian gentleman, complete with cane and bowler hat.

What about Bizarro Alan Moore?

He'd be clean-shaven, and probably a Liefeld fan.

Don't forget he thinks a movie adaption is the perfect way to portray his works and is always quite pleased with the results

Seems like Athena's not too pleased either, that's not a real sincere "hold it kid" hand she's got on Kid!Zeus' shoulder.

I was wondering if he gave the "you guys aren't really gods, you're just a bunch of weirdos" spiel that so many MU denizens go for.

Hah, perhaps. If Osborn's going to be an imbecile about it, someone on the hero side ought to to, just for balance.

Arcade voiced a similar sentiment in the VL-written Deadpool Team-Up this week, referring to "that guy who expects us to believe he's Hercules".

At least that doesn't discount that the guy has power, though, as Osborn did. Nonetheless, still adds to the mountain of evidence that the denizens of 616 are not actually worth saving.

MU heroes are like the Calvinist God: they decide for whatever reason to save people who don't in any way deserve it.

Sidebar, but goddamn do I love this guy's art.

But each and every one of those citizens are like Schrodinger's Box, existing in a state of does/can appreciate being saved and doesn't/can't. The ones who are worth saving we see now and again, usually on an individual basis, and they're pretty much outnumbered and not as loud as the teeming mass of imbeciles. But heroes don't know which is which. Better to save both.

Or something. This sounded clearer in my head.

Huh..I'd always figured Hephaestus robots to be gender nuetral, I mean, he's married to aphrodite, he hardly needs sex bots.

I don't think Aphrodite spends much time in the sack with him, given her rather pronounced views on his appearance.

I still find it kind of odd that he's on Hera's side here; he's usually one of the more sympathetic gods.

Yeah, tho then again, he may still have resentment against Zues for the whole "tossing and crippling him" thing.

Yeah, if they're going with that version of his origin it would make more sense (I tend to default to the "mom did it" version in my head, probably because the Greek Myths for Kids version that I read in Grade Four used that one).

Obviously referring to the famous Homeric lines of "and then the god Hephaestus the short armed creator of Mighty Zeus's thunderbolts and other marvelous weapons and armors sent bronze sexbots to stifle Odysseus and his men. Clever Odysseus soon realized that his swift tongue would not be enough to stop these creations of the gods"

The crazy's debatable, but he's been doing pretty well since showing up in this series, except for the covering of his ass by saying his prior actions were a Skrull (which Jarvis and Pym know is a lie). Then again, I don't know if Cassie's succeeded in telling him about fake!Wanda yet, so that could change.

You gotta wonder if everyone in the Marvel U will be using the "Skrull" excuse. "I didn't sleep with your sister! That was a Skrull!"

And really, why did the Skrulls wanna chase us around and shoot us with their laser guns? They should have settled in like the rest of the aliens that are running around in the Marvel Universe. They would have made fortunes as actors. Want John Wayne in your new movie? Wala! And once those actors become famous, they could then slowly convert us all to that crazy religion of theirs...Oh wait..AHHH!

Am I the only one thinking that USAgent is being used here as the Mighty Avenger's equivlent to the JSA's Magog?

In that most of his role on the team consists of getting in fights with other characters on his team.

USAgent has prior claim on it, though. He was pulling the same schtick in West Coast Avengers back when Magog wasn't even a gleam in Waid's eye.

I really wish instead of defusing the situation, Athena would make some offhand comment that results in John Walker rocking himself back and forth sleeplessly in the corner of his room the next night.
