SPUTHUM!
Have a taste of the things to come! Because I must share this with you I've started scanlating portions...

This is a panel from Alef-Thau by Jodorowski and Arno. It starts off interestingly enough, as a tale of a kid born without limbs but who just can't be stopped on his quest towards becoming a hero, while also being a colossal dick to other characters. And then it gets weird. And weirder. Do you remember the Technopriests posts in the old community? Yeah. Same writer.

I don't think any of us will ever forget Technopriests. No matter how hard we try.

Needless to say I'm very much looking forward to this.

Sputhum? The sound of a wooden foot contacting a jaw is "sputhum"?

I... I can't wait to post more of this. The sounds are just icing on the cake.

You should check out the creator's other flashed based comics too. They're all awesome.

In fact, I nearly forgot! The Ninja With No Arms had a THIRD appearance, in the hypercomic Externality. Which features The Ninja With No Arms vs. Jesus Christ.

Wait, is that Jodorowski as in Alejandro "I made El Topo and The Holy Mountain" Jodorowski? If so, the weird doesn't surprise me, and I'm totally looking forward to it!

It is indeed.

"The Incal", which Technopriests came out of, actually has its origin in a treatment he di for a film adaptation of Dune, with Möbius and H. R. Giger attached as designers and Dan O'Bannon on effects. It took huge liberties with the source material, though (Jodorowsky supposedly started writing the treatment before even reading the book), and Frank Herbert hated it, so it got canned, and eventually David Lynch made his version. It did get Möbius working in the sci-fi genre (before, he'd mostly done westerns); rumors abound that set designs later showed up in Star Wars, and some designs ended up in Alien (which paired Giger with O'Bannon).

I know Mobius did a series about the Incal. Four graphic novels, if memory serves me right.

They're unfortunately hidden beneath the piles of STUF in my library, so I can't scan 'em yet.

Oh, he gets some, then loses some, then grows others, then... I am dying to tell you the future of his right leg but that really has to be seen to be believed. Soon!

Weird gave me some pause.

Technopriests made me question my willingness to read something that would break my brain.

Still, post!

I understand you completely, but this is like the cursed tape from the Ring, it must be shared or else the brain caves in by itself.

I think I used to read this at the city library years and years ago! It must've been 15 years since I've seen that fellow kick someone in the face.

Wasn't this already...an Ozuma Tezuka comic? This is way to singularly bizarre to have cropped up twice without having originated from the same legend or some sort of thing.
