It's a shame that pieces had to be cut, though. Reading Danny's story in text isn't the same as reading it as presented, especially because of the perfectly logical cameo appearance made within. One of the few cops who wouldn't have made jokes, and who would have helped Danny... which of course adds to the tragedy.
This story, even more than League of One, cements Diana's status as a paladin. The gods are almost irrelevant; the Code is everything, and I'm hard pressed to think of a comics character who embodies that better than Diana.
