It's either a deliberate homage to Botticelli's Birth of Venus, or reaching the same solution to the same problem: to draw a full length picture of a nude woman in a natural pose while covering up her naughty bits (there's more for Chen to worry about here than Botticelli - he could show a bit of nipple) - to look right, the anatomy has to be wrong.

The more I look at the two, the more I think definate homage here.

It's her right hip that's missing. Chen drew an exaggerated slanted view of her shoulders and didn't carry it all the way through the hips. She choose to turn them instead and have us view them from the side instead of above. It's awkward and wrong.

That being said, Jo Chen is one of the exceedingly few cover artists out there that I enjoy on a regular basis. She rarely screws her anatomy and is brilliant on likenesses!

	WTH is wrong with her hips? Don't they have...art-checkers or something? Quality control for them commercial artists? It's kinda distracting for a nitpicker like me. (Reply to this)
