Well, that's what's likable about him - he's a swashbuckling ladies' man at times, but he's not arrogant about it - he doesn't take it for granted. The man has style, as befits someone who grew up in the circus, but he's got enough humility to know that style is just style, and it only gets you so far. As a result, you get scenes like these, where Kurt is simultaneously thanking his lucky stars and extremely nervous at the fact that this beautiful woman is actually coming onto him - HIM - Mr. Blue-and-furry. Replace the 'blue-and-furry' part with 'good-looking, but hasn't exercised lately', or 'too skinny and nose is too big', or any number of other self-denigrating modifiers, and you've got pretty much a universal reaction there.
