One January solicit I hadn't seen 'till now

BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL #40
Written by Sam Kieth
Art and cover Sam Kieth
There’s a new killer prowling Gotham City preying on the homeless. Batman has his suspicions, but is his normally rational mind playing tricks on him? When The Caped Crusader finally meets his suspect face-to-face, he finds that the creature knows much more than he should. Prepare for a stunning 4-part storyline written and illustrated by fan favorite Sam Kieth!

yessssssss
january's gonna be soo good

Anyone know more about the upcoming arc? Royal McGraw's apparently written some fills on Detective, and the Commissioner Gordon tie-in to BftC (almost got it, but ultimately didn't), anyone can vouch for him?
Then Marcos Marz is on art. Looks like he's done some fills on 'Tec, Nightwing and Ms. Marvel, but the part that worries me is he also did that ugly looking Trials of Shazam story in the Infinite Holiday Special.

Ehh, but it has Zinda in it, so maybe it'll be worth a look?

I noticed it and then tried to forget it.

Oh, hush you! You don't even know!
unless maybe you do, have you ever read anything of Kieth's before?

That's not an art style I can see working in a Batman book. It looks more appropriate to 2000 A.D. or Mad Magazine.

It wouldn't be the first time!

I kinda like this take on Batman. Usually Marvel is the one to go all crazy with insanely different styles (Both Steve McNiven and Humberto Ramos work here, for crying out loud!), so it's nice to see DC pull stuff like this once in a while.

Sam Kieth is fantastic. You should read some Sam Kieth.

Allright, I shall read some Sam Kieth. Is there anything in particular that you reccomend?

The Maxx in particular is one of my favorites. It was the only 90s-era Image series that didn't wallow so heavily in the excesses that made the 90s awful, and is pretty cool on its own.
Zero Girl and Batman: Secrets are also great, though short, reads.

There's a Lobo mini-mini (two issues?) coming out first week in November he does art on, though it'll be a bit pricey (6.99 per ish, I think, but they're like 80 pages each).

Also, on the topic of wild artists, DC also has Bill Sienkiewicz, who's prolly the closest to Kieth in style as comic artists go (especially since they're both pretty paint-heavy in their best works).

I searched in the web, and the Lobo one sounds interesting, but yeah, it's too pricey...
I live in Chile. Down here, comics from the US cost around $6 each issue, so our best bet is to either wait for the mexican edition (and hope that they choose to translate this!) or buy trades.
I've only heard good things about the Maxx, I'll se if I can snatch that (most Image comics were translated to spanish in the 90's, and now they're dirt cheap!)

If you can't track the singles, Wildstorm printed the whole series in six trades, so that might be easier to find.

I got the Commish BftC tie-in. If memory serves it was kind of predictable.

That or the Nazi zombies from Dead Snow have become a lot more environmentally friendly.

The upcoming Batman Confidential arc, Blackhawk Down, which starts November 4th and runs semimonthly for four issues. This solicit is for the arc starting in January (and no clue whether Confidential's going back to monthly with it).
