HE didn't think things through? The ANTS didn't think things through! They had a lake of honey in their hill! Honey! In an ant hill! Conveniently placed for ants to fall into and drown in a horrible, oozy, suffocating death! The convenience of being able to get a snack whenever they wanted it does not justify the situation - nor does the incredible amount of time and effort it must have taken to get it there in the first place.
'*pant, pant* FINALLY! It has taken us over a month, but the lake of honey is here! We had to raid a beehive, capture a dozen bees, train them to make honey for us, and hollow out this football-sized dent in the earth - it took blood, sweat and toil - we had to invent new bee-training methods - many of our brothers died in the process - our short lifespans have been shortened still further by the crushing, time-consuming labor, but THE LAKE OF HONEY IS HERE! The Queen's wishes have been carried out! Someone go tell her.'
'Uh, sir? She already knows, and, um, I've got bad news. Turns out what the queen really wanted was for us to fetch that plastic honey-filled bear that the human scientist keeps on his kitchen windowsill. She didn't say 'a LAKE of honey', she said 'a LITTLE honey'.'
'...'
'Yes, and, um, she wants to have 'a few choice words' with - and these are her words, not mine - the idiot who spent a month getting her a snack that could've been gotten in one afternoon.'
