Realities and realities (now w/ an update from James Robinson's Twitter)
George Perez draws a two-page spread of the WildStorm cast o' heroes. It's slated to appear as the covers of two titles in January, I think:

Also, CBR has preview up of Justice League of America 38, one page of which is attached:

Update: Superboyprime points out that James Robinson's spoken up about Blue Jay on his twitter: "I wouldn't assume you've seen the last of Blue Jay. I consider him a little guy with a big future."

BRB, LOLING FOREVER (and not in the Blue Beetle way)

Like, it's gotten to the point where you have to be doing this intentionally.

I never could into WildStorm, but who is the pink girl with the arrow on her chest? She has a cool costume, what's her story?

Also, I forgot Blue Jay even existed.

With all due respect to George Perez, his style just doesn't click with my view of Wildstorm. Jim Lee, John Cassaday, Doug Mankhe, and Ed McGuinness strike me as being Wildstorm. There's a certain oval-ness to Perez's style, where as the others have a more square-rectangle style. Hard to describe.

Not that it matters, since I don't buy Wildstorm stuff anymore. It just looks odd to me.

Robinson on Twitter today: "I wouldn't assume you've seen the last of Blue Jay. I consider him a little guy with a big future."

Ugh. This is Robinson's ridiculous League line-up (Congorilla? C'mon!) all over again. So instead of focusing on the JLA -- only the characters the book is named after -- he's wasting page space to spotlight yet another pet character. Hey, Robinson, here's an idea. How about writing stories about the actual JLA, not some D-lister like Blue Jay who no fan gives even a single damn about?

I like Blue Jay even though I've read near nothing with him. I know PG's cat liked chasing him and come on he'd thus make a hilarious character to have in PG's book.

I also actually like his costume.

Ya know, I'm probably a rarity in that I really don't mind villains killing heroes. The 'good always wins' is boring from a story telling point.

What I do hate however, is scenes like in the preview, where villains kill heroes far beneath their weight class so effortlessly. It's like a neon sign by the writer to tell us that this character is dangerous, but actually manages to counter what they've shown us. Why? Because the rule is show, don't tell. And killing a meager B-lister is very telling.
