Is the Uranian from Uranus?

Well, he lived there for many years, so yeah, kind of.

Nah, he was just circling around there looking for Klingons.

I only hope that at least one issue will be "Return To Uranus" or "Uranus Revisited"!

Or "Marvel Boy's Up In Uranus and You Love Every Minute of It!"

Should it be relevant that "Uranian" is a rather old-fashioned (19th century) term for "homosexual"?

So wait, if Reborn is getting one more issue then what about that "Who gets the Shield" epilogue in December? Does it now come out in February? Or did Brubaker structure the story around it being a sort of Reborn issue 5.5? I'm hoping for the latter myself, I don't want a whole month gap of waiting.

Marvel.com still lists it for December 2nd - it may yet be moved, but with the regular series resuming in the same month, presumably it's either a #5.5 or it will also come out in January.

Curious in all the wrong ways perhaps:

From the F4 preview: "*Stay tuned for more details on Marvel’s 2010 Marvel Women Event!"

Hrmm...

That's sort of what I expect. Something kind of bad (not that I thought Marvel Divas was that heinous mind you, just not good either from what little I've seen). Either that or it will be spectacular...maybe?

I didn't read Marvel Divas, but the reactions some people had to it made me think it would be more of the same.

Or it could be worse... Marvel's version of Amazons Attack?

I'm...not sure exactly what Steve is doing on that cover (lifting weights?), but otherwise should be good.

Seems like 50s Cap is going to be the first big story in the run not related to the Red Skull (Brubaker's done a great job making Cap's rogues work for the last 50+ issues, but it's all been so centred around the Skull, which is a common problem in Cap stories). If JMS was writing this I'd expect an anvilicious story about 50s Cap leading teabaggers, but Brubaker's pronounced his dislike for that kind of soapboxing with the character.

As many as it takes to get popular.

Captain America 602: OH GOD THEY'RE GONNA SHOOT, RUN! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, RUN!!!

Avengers vs. Agents of Atlas 1: M-11 WILL DO A BELLY FLOP . . . OF DOOM!

Marvel Boy: The Uranian: Anyone makes a "Uranus" joke dies. Yes, I know where that planet is placed. You joke, you die.

You know what, considering it's the return of one of Marvel's flagship (heh) characters, after one of the most epic comic book deaths, they've done a truly shitty job of organizing it. It's rushed, clumsy, and now they've realised the story's an issue longer? *facepalm* They should have taken the time to get it right. And give Hitch about twice as long to get his art up to standard.

I like how shiny Iron Man is on the third cover, though.

REBORN isn't going with what I thought they might do: Steve Rogers literally "reborn" in an infant body of himself. SUPERBOY did something similar with The Guardian (another character that used a shield who was associated with Jack Kirby) so it had precedent.

Why do I get the feeling that the Uranian is basically Marvel giving Mark Waid the finger, coupled with a statement that they'd had a mentally-unbalanced evil Superman for years before he did?
