Yeah, but like the rest of the Ultimate Defenders, her characterisation was based around a bunch of people who desperately want to be heroes, to the point that they welcome a known wife-abuser like Hank Pym with open arms because he actually has powers. Sort of like the Ultimate Mystery Men.
And, yeah, Loeb has tried to 'advance' the character, and in his world that means she becomes more important because she is screwing a powerful male character, i.e. Ultimate Thor. There is literally nothing else to the character; she swings a sword, uselessly, once or twice and is apparently the reason why Ultimate Thor talks like someone who calls 16th-Century English "Old-Timey Talk" and is too stupid to associate it with Shakespeare.
Same goes for Zarda, she disappears for the entirety of Ultimates 3 following Ultimate Power and Boom! First new story she's in, she booty-calls the Hulk, smashes a car in Ultimatum and now she's a team player.
