And this is what makes me gnash teeth, I could forgive everything crap about how this series is set up and even call most of it reasonable:
Oracle works out of that stupid apartment, because that's all he can afford after Platinum Flats. Sure, she could hit Dick up for cash, but Babs don't roll that way. (Pun intended!)
Oracle hacks into the Batcomputer because she doesn't have all her records, after losing them in Birds of Prey #75. Yes, she could ask for them, but she's tried the friendly, sociable approach and it leads to failure and hurt.
Oracle could ignore Steph and let her die or shut her down completely, but Babs isn't emotionally healthy enough to do the truly responsible thing. Therefore, she grudgingly works with Steph to keep her alive and feed her super-hero habit.
The setup is there. The parts are there. I was so close to giving in reading the series, but then this preview shows up and I know, in my gut of guts, that the writer has a superficial grasp of the characters at best. How hard is it put pieces in the right order?
