I'm not sure I get that last panel on the first page. I mean, it's a nice little moment between Robin and a cop, but I'm not sure I understand just what they're saying. What do they miss about the old days? The fact that the Batman/cop relationship was better? Then why are they looking so CHIPPER? Surely the fact that hostility has crept into the formula would be a cause for more downbeat expressions than that. And if that's NOT what they miss, then... then... what? That being said, I like the rest of this, and that last panel with Bats swinging away is bee-yoooo-tiful. One of the better such examples I've seen, I think, because it's so abstract - you don't get the whole classic silhouette with the pointy-eared cowl and so forth, you just get this vaguely batwinged SHAPE swinging off into the gathering night. Very cool.
