Agreed. And as I sort of suggested in an earlier post, the braintrust/webheads with this issue, as well as every issue since issue #600, have essentially taken these characters and their relationships back to exactly where they were in the 1980s.
Once again, Mary Jane is Peter's ex who had returned to New York after a prolonged absence, and Peter and her try to be "just friends" even though they still are very much attracted to one another. The only real difference here is that Peter is essentially trying to avoid his feelings via winding up in a drunken hook-up with his psycho of a roommate, Michele, and getting into a "friends with benefits" arrangement with Felicia.
And Peter and Felicia (or rather Spider-Man and the Black Cat) are engaged in a physical relationship in which Felicia doesn't know who Spider-Man really is, is only attracted to the "Spider-Man" persona more than who is really under the mask, is a professional thief who is working for some "mysterious" employer who will no doubt be some super villain (perhaps Mr. Negative or Norman Osborn this time around), AND she has her Bad Luck powers. The only difference here is the sex between Spidey and Black Cat is more obvious. I know comics are cyclical by nature, but it shouldn't have to feel so stale.
