But they DON'T necessarily both know that they had a deeper relationship - that's what I was saying. Continuity is all up the pole at the moment - it's yet to be revealed just how messed up the characters' respective memories are. Clearly, they both remember that they used to be in SOME sort of relationship, but precisely what the extent of that relationship is... well, the impression that I got is that at least one of them is completely in the dark about this. Black Cat's memories are obviously extremely vague, and Peter's may be, too - I could be wrong, but I don't think he's so much as said her real name yet, has he? He knows that their relationship WOULD get deeper if she saw his face, yes, because she'd remember who he was, but whether or not he recalls the actual depths of their previous relationship is not entirely clear. It could well be that neither of them WANT to recall anything else just now - like I said earlier, he may not want to draw her too deeply into his complicated personal life, and she's just starting to remember that they ever had a relationship at all - maybe she just wants to rediscover the basics and decide for herself whether deepening the relationship is worth it or not. After all, if her memories are that blurry, she may not even remember whether theirs was ultimately a GOOD relationship, or whether it was just a fondly-remembered but ultimately shallow series of rolls in the hay. If it's the latter (which it isn't, but she doesn't know this), she would be well advised to find this out before committing more deeply. As for 'both of them value the other's genitals more than they value the people attached to them ' - well, if that's true, then why are they teaming up during the rest of the issue? If the relationship is ONLY about sex, then why didn't they just exchange phone numbers and go their separate ways? Clearly they mean SOMETHING to each other as people, or they wouldn't bother sticking around and fighting by each other's sides.
