If I may add my two cents on a topic that I'm not very well-versed in (I haven't been reading Spiderman at all, really, so I only know the basics of what's been going on)...
It strikes me as noteworthy that Quesada's description of what happened to his mother is actually the opposite of the deal with Mephisto. His mother gave up her life because she wanted to make sure that her family had a home, to make sure that they had a future somewhere. Mary Jane gave up her and Peter's future so that Aunt May could live.
...And I realize that that's not really what anyone was arguing about, but I thought it was interesting.
