Fuck that. Earlier treatment, and she very well could have survived. Cancer is not a death sentence, and loving someone means that both sides want the other to STAY AROUND. This was not a Terry Schiavo case, where she was so much on death's door that letting her go would have been a mercy.
I despise what Quesada saw as "the right lesson" from this experience so much that I can barely even see straight as I type this - I find it morally abhorrent on pretty much every conceivable level - and it tells me way too much about the mentality of the guy who's controlling Marvel Comics.
