The Shade Ties Up Some Loose Ends

A friend of the Shade has learned that he is a reincarnation of the DC Western character Scalphunter, and has decided to quit the corrupt ways he'd picked up in his time as a policeman and start afresh.

The Shade, whose best friend was in fact Scalphunter, decides to help the cop become a better person as a tribute to his former friend.

Why the cop was able to talk his former associates into just dropping it and pretending that he was always straight, the Shade's methods were... not as diplomatic.

Lee Strasberg? As in method acting? That's what wikipedia lead me to believe.

Guess Shade is saying the guy's a bad liar. Gotta figure the dead mob guy was kind of a dumbass not to honestly abandon his grudge when he had the chance, in order to save his own life.

Yep. Agreeing in a Jon Lovitz "Yeah, that's the ticket..." tone with someone who just filled your penthouse with the corpses of dozens of bodyguards shows a remarkable lack of self-preservation instinct.

Given how he tried to defend his 'innocence' despite wading through dead bodyguards, the guy cleary was too dumb to live anyway.

so Shade is not a villian or a hero right? more of an Anti-Hero? or would he fit more along the Lines of Puck (shakespear, or in this case more like Puck from Gargoyles) or Mxy? the more i hear about this guy the more interesting he seems

He's a villain who so loves his home of Opal City that he won't commit crimes there and protects the city. After becoming friends with the modrn Starman he's been showing some heroic qualities....

Read Starman (the Jack KNight version). VERY entertaining book.

See, now I'm thinking this guy is where Tim Drake got the name from.
